Changing a player's reading level is not editable by an educator. Educators have the option to reassign the placement test to re-assess all or individual learners.
What is a Placement test?
Placement tests consist of initial passages within Dreamscape/Dreamseeker Drift that are automatically assigned to a player when their account is created.
When you first add a player, you'll specify their grade level, which determines the content of the placement tests. As players answer questions, their Reading Comprehension Level (RCL) is determined and adjusted by our adaptive learning engine.
Their skill level assessments will also be formed and graded by our adaptive learning engine (For instance: Receiving a skill level assessment for performance on metaphors related questions).
Important: The set grade of a player is not used for anything beyond the initial questions given by the placement test.
Players' are only evaluated based on Reading Comprehension Levels (RCLs). Their RCLs will move up and down according to their appropriate reading comprehension skill levels. Please check on this article for more details on our New Learning Engine.
