From version 4.11.0 and onwards, the Class leaderboard will be available in Dreamscape.
What is the Class Leaderboard?
The Class leaderboard is a new way of measuring the amount of points your classmates earn compared to how many points other classes earn. The challenge session is the same as the individual leaderboard's duration on a biweekly cycle. At the end of each session, all point values will be reset and all classes start from 0 again for the next session.
Your class ranking will be available at the bottom of the Class tab. The top 50 ranking classes will be visible for everyone to see by scrolling through the ranking. If you are a member of one of the top 50 classes, your class will be highlighted.
For more details about the individual leaderboard, please read this article!
Which Class Am I In?
You can be part of one or multiple classes. If you are part of multiple classes, the class you will see highlighted for yourself is the one you most recently joined using the 'Join Class' feature. Only the class you joined the most recently will be shown on the class leaderboard.
If you are part of only one class, that is the class you will see highlighted for yourself.
What are these Names on Classes?
Nicknames have been automatically generated and attached to all new and existing classes. These names include 3 randomly generated words: Two adjectives and an animal. Neither teachers nor players may change their class nicknames.
How are Class Points Added?
When you earn points as an individual player, you will be contributing to class points as well. These calculations are separate from each other. Class point contributions depend on the number of players in the class. For larger classes, each player's actions will result in a lower amount of points compared to a class with fewer registered players. This will keep the playing field level so that large classes do not always dominate the leaderboard.
Players who are part of multiple classes will contribute points to each class they are in. Although you cannot see every class they are part of within the leaderboard, your points are added to each class. Your points do not get "split"; each class point contribution will be calculated separately from any other class you are part of.
Why Should I Compete?
All players who are part of a class that ranks in the top 50 will receive rewards. You do not need to have that class set to be your visible class on your leaderboard to receive rewards. Joining a class requires their class code, not their nicknames.
The rewards given for a challenge session might change in future challenge sessions.
How do I Join the Class Leaderboard?
When you earn leaderboard points, you will automatically contribute to the leaderboard for any class you are part of. If you want to join other classes and contribute to them, use the 'Join Class' feature from your Settings. Remember to use this feature again to see the class you are most interested in having displayed on your leaderboard!
You cannot join the top ranking classes unless you already have their class code.
How do I Leave a Class?
Your educator/parent must remove you from a class using their dashboard. You can join other classes to change the class you see for yourself in the leaderboard.
